Travelling between Chandigarh and Ambala will soon take less time with the northern railway all set to open the 21 kilometer double - rail track between Ambala -Dappar Railway Stations . The work on the remaining 22 km stretch between Dappar and Chnadigarh is in Progress. Officials in the Railways said due to the double Track between the Ambala-Dappar rail section that witnessed heavy rail traffic ,the movement of passenger and goods trains would become faster The second track will ensure that the rail traffic is not held up in case of an eventuality ,They said. In Wake of the forthcoming inspection of the New section by the commissioner Railway Safety on October 5 ,the work is in full swing to clear all encumbrances on the section. over 150 trees falling close to the track have been cleared The electrification has been completed and the work on non -interlocking at Dappar and lalru stations is in progress. ''Once the Double Track between Ambala and Chandigarh becomes operational ,the Travelling time for trains will lesson by around 20 minutes .Once the double Track is complete, the frequency of trains between Chandigarh and Delhi will be increased '',said an official.
