Finally , the state government has waived total registration fee charged for transfer of property between spouses and blood relations in urban and rural areas with immediate effect , thereby giving relief to thousands of such beneficiaries .
Initially , the decision to waive this registration fee was taken by the state cabinet ” verbally ” on may 20. The state government had announced with much aplomb that the waiver had been granted. But this was later struck down by the legal remembrancer.
Sources in the Revenue Department say this has finally
cleared all legal hurdles and a formal notification has
been issued today. The aim is to encourage families to
legally transfer property between blood relations and spouses ,including son , daughter , father , mother , brother , sister , grandson and granddaughter .Besides this, the state government has also decided to waive social security fund, social infrastructure cess and stamp duty on such transactions.
