To make Punjab best state in ease of doing business, Badal sets deadline 30th may

Punjab deputy chief minister Sukhbir Singh Badal has set May 30 deadline for the target of making the state “best in ease of doing business”. Chairing a review meeting to further improve the business climate in the state, he claimed Punjab will emerge as the best state in all aspects taken in account while evaluating the level of ease of doing business. He also issued instructions to all departments concerned and asked Chief Secretary Sarvesh Kaushal to hold review meetings to assess their performance, an official release said. During the meeting, CEO of Invest Punjab Anirudh Tiwari said seven out of 10 announcements made by the Deputy CM, during "Invest Punjab Summit-2015", were fulfilled and the work on three others was in progress.He said the labour department had barred all inspections except those with the permission of the labour commissioner. He claimed that the department of industries and commerce had also issued a notice for self-certification of documents and third-party annual inspection of boilers. No boiler inspector now can visit any industry unless requested for, and the same for electrical inspectors. The excise and taxation department had notified to issue permanent tax index number(TIN)in seven days.For construction permit to any industry, all agencies concerned (like town and country planning department, fire department, and airport authority) will do a joint inspection. Punjab Pollution Control Board (PPCB) will auto-renew consent to operate (CTO) to green and orange category industries without any inspection.
