Work on Tribune flyover may start in 10 months

To end the problem of traffic congestion at Tribune Chowk, work on a flyover will start in around 10 months.   As per news ,this was stated by Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari while addressing mediapersons at the Regional Editors’ Conference in Chandigarh.   As news reveal,Replying to a query on the proposed flyover at Tribune Chowk, Gadkari said work on it would start in around 10 months. The detailed project report (DPR) was ready and once it was approved, the process for floating tenders would start,Mr.Gadkari said.   On a demand of local MP Kirron Kher, who had written to Mr. Gadkari seeking a resolution to the problem of traffic congestion at Tribune Chowk, the minister had, on June 5, approved the proposal to solve the problem.   MP Kirron, in her letter, had submitted that a flyover or a combination of a flyover and an underpass at the rotary was a possible solution. She had stated that as this important junction fell on the national highway, in-principle approval should be granted to the work at the earliest. She said an appropriate design for the project could be finalised in consultation with the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) and the Chandigarh Administration. Sources: News
