In a major boost to Haryana’s tourism ambitions, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini recently announced that the state is in talks with Disney officials to establish India’s first Disneyland-style amusement park. The proposed park will be located near Pachgaon Chowk in Manesar, covering around 500 acres. Its location near the KMP Expressway and Haryana Orbital Rail Corridor makes it easily accessible from across the NCR. Saini stated that the park will not only attract global tourists but also generate a vast number of direct and indirect jobs.

The site was chosen due to Gurgaon’s strong infrastructure and economic relevance. It is also close to the upcoming 1,000-acre Global City project that spans sectors 36, 36B, 37, and 37B. This smart city initiative will feature mixed-use development, high-quality connectivity to Delhi-Gurgaon and Dwarka expressways, and a walk-to-work model. The CM highlighted that such an entertainment hub will significantly transform the region's economy and cultural identity.

In addition to the Disneyland proposal, the government plans to expand key cultural events such as the International Gita Mahotsav in Kurukshetra and the Surajkund Mela. Plans are also being made to host a Diwali fair and a book festival at Surajkund. These developments aim to position Haryana as a dynamic cultural and tourism destination. However, the revival of the Disneyland idea has sparked political reactions, as a similar plan in 1989 was shelved due to political and landowner resistance.
